Josè Luis Merlin and Lisa Schroeder. Noteworthy Duo.

In 2011, José Luis composed the four-movement work entitled Agua de Trapiche for Noteworthy Duo.  In 2012, José Luis and Lisa began playing together in multiple concerts including one in 2012 in Long Beach, California (U.S.A.), and two in 2013 at the Universidad Nacional de San Luis (Argentina) and the World Flutes Festival in Mendoza (Argentina).


NOTEWORTHY DUO is an Internationally acclaimed flute and guitar duo with a vision to reach a non-classical audience, inspire the classical listener, and to touch just one life with a “noteworthy" performance. Noteworthy’s interest in South American Music can be heard throughout their extensive flute and guitar repertoire. Their newest CD entitled, “As In Dreams…Reflections for flute and guitar" has received rave reviews from the classical music community. The Victorian Flute Guild Magazine hails it “enchanting, mystical and breathtaking!"

Altus Artist, Lisa Schroeder, is a Los Angeles based performer, teacher, and clinician. She holds flute performance degrees from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University Long Beach (M.M.) and Middle Tennessee State University (B.M.).  In 2015, she received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in flute performance and pedagogy from the University of Iowa, where she was awarded the prestigious Iowa Performance Fellowship and was a graduate teaching assistant. Dr. Schroeder is the Flute Professor at Vanguard University of Southern California and has previously served on faculty at California State University San Bernardino, Cerritos College and Golden West College.
